Kings Prayer...

The previous month
I prayed to the almighty,
To bless my people,
With food, wealth and pleasure in abundance.
Keep my kingdom rich and large,
Without my people working for that.
With every wish granted and every soul satisfied,
Let me hear no more complaints.
The plead was heard,
And blessings were there,
In more abundance than demand....
The unexpected happened!.

Today I pray, 'O My lord,
Keep my kingdom rich and large,
And give my people what they wish,
Only when they work for that!'
This time too the prayer was heard,
And laziness fled from the kingdom forever...

Here is my first attempt. This is my entry for this week's prompt of "Abundant" in Velvet Verbosity's 100-Word Challenge, generously hosted here by LouCeel.
